The day I quit meneame

For those who don't know meneame, it's one of the most famous news sites on the Spanish Internet. In a way it's like Digg, who, by the way, seems to be interested on buying it. (For those not knowing Digg, what a shame!!, just get further information on Wikipedia's digg article).

Meneane is really simmilar to Digg: people submits news articles, and the news considered interesting by other digg members and also voted by them go to the main page. Easy, right?

What in fact happens is that sometimes news are not really news nor interesting, so you take a look at them and you don't really find too much, although you spend sometime there.

My daily dose of meneame can take me like 20 or 30 minutes (I use to click on the links and get further information, I'm curious) which, at the end of the week becomes almost 3 hours. And what is more is that I use to visit that site just like a robot: "Let me see... I've to take a look at my mail, my blog and meneame". I think it's time to quit because right now I'm a bit busy. But who knows, perhaps I come back soon, because some news are really good news.

The very best thing about meneame is that the news (mainly geeky news) appear there sooner than in many other mainstream media.
